Sinners and Fasting

Question: Some people say, “Those who abandon namaz, who drink alcohol, who go out without covering themselves, or who commit any other sins should not fast in vain.” Is it true?
ANSWER
No, it is contrary to the religion. Commission of a few sins does not necessitate commission of other sins as well. Those who fast and commit sins at the same time cannot receive the great thawab given in return for fasting. But they will not be called to account in the Hereafter as to why they did not fast; they will be considered to have paid the debt of fasting. Moreover, with the blessings of fasting, abstinence from other sins may fall to their lot, too. Hadrat Imam-i Rabbani declares:

Question: What should be observed for healthy eating and drinking in Ramadan?
ANSWER
The answer that a physician friend of ours has given is as follows:

It is witnessed that people who have an unbalanced diet in Ramadan develop many health problems, such as lack of energy, depression, stomach ache, indigestion, and blood pressure drop. Just as it is wrong not to get up for pre-dawn meal (sahur) or to consume excess fatty foods during it, so it is wrong to overindulge and to eat a wide variety of foods

Minor signs of Doomsday

Question: What are the minor signs of Doomsday (Qiyamah)?
ANSWER
In the time period near Doomsday, the minor signs will occur first, and the major ones will follow them. Some hadith-i sharifs about the minor signs of it are as follows:

(Doomsday will not come until people boast about mosques and decorations in them.) [Ibn Maja]

(Doomsday will not come until a man satisfies his sexual need with another man and a woman satisfies her sexual need with another woman.) [Hatib]

(Doomsday will not come until fitan [pl. of fitna] increase.) [Bukhari]
